Funding boost for schools helping pupils develop character

Release Date: Jun 01, 2016

Applications are now open for character grants worth £6 million, aimed at schools, colleges, universities, local authorities and other voluntary, not-for-profit and social enterprise groups and other not for profit groups promoting traits such as resilience and respect in children through activities. Organisations that host activities that broaden children’s learning experiences such as sports, debating or music to boost character can apply to receive part of the fund. The fund is looking for projects that develop key character traits that support academic attainment, are valued by employers and enable children to make a positive contribution to society.

Organisations can apply up until the 23rd of June by submitting a proposal for funding, with more information available here.

For a full specification, application form and further guidance go to Contracts Finder: character education grants.
